PREPARATION AND PRESENTATION OF WINE
This wine is originated in the Domaine de Pontfract vineyard owned by the same family for more then three centuries. The 20 hectares vineyard is located a few kilometers from Brignoles, upon rocky limestone soil flooded with sunlight. The plantings of Domaine de Pontfract vineyard consists, for the rose wine, from Grenache, Cinsault and Carignan's varietals. Produced at a modern winery, the rose wines Domaine de Pontfract meet high quality standards required by the House of Vins Bréban, which holds exclusive distribution rights for this wine. The wine growing area surrounding the Domaine de Pontfract is a part of AOP Côtes de Provence region, the largest Provence appellation. Its geographical area includes 85 municipalities of the departments of Var, Bouches-du-Rhone and Alpes-Maritimes. With a certain diversity of soils, the whole area is influenced by the Mediterranean climate typical of Provence. The vineyard, which covers about 20,000 hectares, producing in the majority rosé wines. This is the northern part of the designation area, where the costs of land are low and where the grapes ripen slowly, so that from the wine under AOP Côtes de Provence rosés are most popular.
